III. Product Principle

In an oxygen-isolated, sealed environment, microorganisms undergo anaerobic metabolism, primarily producing a mixed gas of carbon dioxide and methane. This instrument is equipped with a dedicated sealed reaction unit that stably maintains the anaerobic reaction conditions. The gaseous products of the reaction are first passed through an absorption bottle to thoroughly remove the carbon dioxide component. The remaining gas after CO₂ removal is predominantly methane; the instrument establishes a functional relationship between the exhaust flow rate and the system pressure, sets a pressure threshold, and implements intelligent control of the venting process. When the pressure within the sealed system reaches the preset threshold, the instrument automatically initiates venting and continuously records the number of venting events, enabling precise conversion and quantification of the total methane released during the microbial anaerobic reaction.
