3. Product Principle

In a closed system, microorganisms in the water sample consume oxygen while breaking down organic matter, simultaneously producing carbon dioxide. The generated CO₂ is absorbed by an absorbent like sodium hydroxide, causing the pressure inside the closed system to drop. This pressure change is then precisely measured using a high-precision pressure sensor and converted into biochemical oxygen demand through advanced algorithms.
